What is 50 Shades of White

Ok so what is this 50 Shades of White blog about... Well originally it started as a joke between myself and some friends and finally I have been convinced to do it.

50 Shades of White is really all about the problems and situations that I, as a pathetically pale person (I'm also a ginger, lucky me...) faces in everyday life. This first post will be a quick jab at the topic.

Lets start with our skin tone.. Now for those incredibly lucky few who don't have freckles absolutely covering you, I tip my metaphorical hat to you, but for those who are like myself we are absolutely covered in freckles, I give you my sympathies. Not to mention the endless games of connect the dots our so called "friends" seem to enjoy playing through out formative years in school.

Also lets not forget the pasty white that we are. Now yes I will say that sometimes we look as if we are a beautiful blank canvas, its a lovely shade of white but most of the time, yes we are in fact pasty A4 paper white people. It really does suck. Now as an exchange student in Germany and it just having been summer I was asked many, many, many times "how come you don't turn brown?" my simple reply of "It's just not how I am" really had no effect on these people and the question that followed my sentence was usually "But you're from Australia, aren't they all tan?". To those people I implore you to please, educate yourselves. Much of Australia's population actually originates from Europe and my heritage, if my red hair didn't give it away, is no different.

And thus gives us our very first post in 50 Shades of White...
